BEAUTIES OF CROATIA – FROM THE MOUNTAINS TO THE LAVENDER ISLAND

APRIL 2016

The island of Hvar, queen of the Dalmatian islands, is well known since ancient times due to its strategic and nautical position. Likewise, it is known due to its rich historical eras, culture and natural monuments. Because of the mild climate, the warm winters and pleasant summers the island Hvar hosts each year numerous guests and scientists who can enjoy fresh fish and high-quality wines in the midst of lush, unspoiled Mediterranean nature.
Therefore, it is no coincidence that Hvar has been called „Austrian Madeira" before the First World War.
Today Hvar is one of the ten most beautiful islands in the world.
